The Whanganui River Markets is the perfect place on a Saturday morning to truly experience what it's like to be a local. The market is located on the historic site of early Maori trading, and the Whanganui River is the backdrop to more than 100 stalls.
There is an array of local food producers including delicious wood-fired pizza, posh porridge, artisan cheese, organic produce, delicious cakes, cinnamon buns, hot-off-the-pan crepes and more. You'll also find an eclectic mix of vintage items, pottery, local art, jewellery, and among other treasures.
The markets offer a famous one, and are a favourite for locals and visitors alike.
