Papaiti Gin is a boutique distillery located in the charming village of Upokongaro, just a stone's throw away from Whanganui. We stumbled upon a beautiful house in Papaiti, complete with two pear orchards, and were inspired to create a craft gin that utilises locally sourced botanicals. Our goal is to create a product that is not only delicious but also deeply connected to the environment in which it's made.

At Papaiti Gin, we take pride in our commitment to sourcing botanicals as locally as possible. We use pears, kawakawa, lemon, lime, figs, quince, basil, rosehip, stinging nettle, and rosemary, all of which grow right behind our house. Our signature Orchard gin emulates the fertile land of the Papaiti flats, the orchards that frame our home, and the native bush on the banks of the Whanganui River. We welcome visitors to experience our unique distillery, where they can learn about our distilling process, sample our spirits, and even have a go at making their own.
